Media Accreditation Policy
Friends of the Festival, Inc. welcomes journalists and media representatives to TIGLFF —Tampa Bay International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival for its landmark showcase of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender cinema. The Festival each October and Derek Horne, the TIGLFF Program Director handles all Festival press accreditation and is the contact for any media questions. To be admitted to screenings, journalists and media representatives must be on pre-approved media list. Those currently on the list need not send a letter requesting accreditation.
If you are not on pre-approved press list, you must have an email sent from your editor or producer that confirms your assignment to cover TIGLFF and indicates the proposed date(s) your coverage will appear in print, online or on air. After the Festival, we kindly request that you submit your Festival tear-sheet(s), either by mailing in your coverage or providing us with a link to your post or audio/video stream. We cannot permit any press persons to enter public screenings unless they are on the TIGLFF’s press list. Admission to Opening Night, Closing Night, and all special events is by invitation only. Due to the high demand for press tickets and the large number of sold-out events anticipated, we kindly request that you observe the below guidelines.
For all Festival screenings, you may attend by emailing TIGLFF at least 24 hours before the show you want to attend. Your written request must include the name of the film, screening play date, venue and time. Please note that our office is closed on weekends — so if you want to attend Saturday, Sunday or Monday screenings you must fax/email before noon on Friday. You should arrive 15 minutes early and then locate our Festival Director and/or applicable publicity representative on site at that time who will check your name against the list. We will not admit anyone after the show has started, so please be on time. For screenings that start before 5:00 p.m., you may bring a guest. Due to the limited number of press tickets available, we are unable to guarantee both you and your guest be granted access however will try to accommodate as best as possible.
