Tucked -Encore Presentation
Two drag performers form a (grand)father-son bond in this multiple award-winning British film.
Tucked was one of the top five favorite films at our own Festival last October. So we thought we would share it again in St Pete!
TUCKED is a raw and tender drama about an aging 80 year old drag queen who forms an unlikely friendship with a younger queen, both struggling with their own issues of gender identity and mortality. As they discover more about each other, they realize how to truly be themselves. It’s a ‘slice of life’ drama about love, loss and friendship; a feel good film with a great charm and sense of humor.
Set primarily at a club in Brighton, England, the film introduces us to Jackie (Derren Nesbitt), who regales the club regulars with biting jabs at just about everyone. A newcomer to the club, a 21-year-old gay performer named Faith (Jordan Stephens), finds inspiration in Jackie’s fearlessness and seems eager to become a protege.
The interaction of these two unique characters gives the movie both wit and pathos.
