Flamingo Camp / The River and the Glen: Camp Trans Scotland
Documentary Double Feature
Flamingo Camp
Directed by Chris Coats, 2025, USA, 80 min
Set in the off-grid squatter town known as Slab City, “Flamingo Camp” documents the thriving golden days of a queer and trans community on the fringe of society and its sudden fracturing when an unthinkable tragedy strikes.
The River and The Glen: Camp Trans Scotland
Directed by Jules Lacave-Fontourcy, 2025, United Kingdom, 30 Min
The First Scottish Camp Trans happened in September 2024, near Aberfeldy. Cradled by the mountains, far from cis-society for a weekend. Far from being a commodified retreat, Camp Trans was a coming together of trans people to rest and restore strength. This documentary explores how community care, trans ancestry were the pillars of Camp Trans.
