Combining vintage footage with animated recreations, this exciting and eye-opening documentary captures the explosion of sex, culture, and politics that happened when punk met feminism in the riotous London of the 1980’s. These radical lesbian feminists were kickass women in leather jackets who made their own punk bands and zines, ran their own underground bars, women-only sex clubs and formed squatter camps around an airfield. They were gender-fluid and trans friendly and they lived their politics. They were the first generation of sex positive outlaw women, and nothing has been quite the same since. Before the Riot Grrls and Lesbian Avengers…there were the Rebel Dykes.
